Social Justice in America Series

Defending Democracy

The fourth in what is now known as the Social Justice in America Series “Defending Democracy: Confronting Voter Suppression and White Supremacy in the New Millennium,” will be held in the fall. The focus this year is on issues of great concern as we move into a major election year in a tense political climate. The Department of History has designed three events to bring together IU and the community for conversations on difficult subjects.

This year’s speaker for the virtual town hall meeting is Ash-Lee Woodard Henderson, co-executive director of the Highlander Research and Education Center. Learn more and share with your students the three opportunities that the Department of History has coordinated for the 2020 Social Justice in America Series.
