Traditionally, Indiana University celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (AAPIHM) in April to allow students, staff, and faculty to experience the variety of events AAPIHM has to offer. This year, there will be webinars, cultural conversations, and more. Please visit the IU Events Calendar and the Asian Culture Center Event Calendar to learn more.
I want to acknowledge the statements issued by the Office of the Provost and the Asian Culture Center and reinforce the fact that Indiana University condemns bigotry and hate in all forms. With the increase in anti-Asian hate, I would like to take this opportunity to share some resources. For any student whose mental health has been affected by these events, I encourage you to visit Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and schedule a virtual counseling session. Additionally, if you experience or witness a bias incident, please be sure to submit a report alerting the university. Reporting an incident allows IU to address the issue and take steps to prevent future incidents.
For more information regarding AAPIHM, please visit the ACC’s resource page, which features various websites, books, documents, and videos about the Asian American and Pacific Islander experience and culture.
Warm Regards,
