2024 HEED Awards for Diversity and Inclusion
IU Bloomington and IU Indianapolis were honored with the 2024 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award. This award acknowledges the university’s commitment to making DEI a top priority, with IU being recognized as a Diversity Champion. Indiana University’s campuses were praised for developing successful strategies and programs that set the standard for other institutions striving for diversity.

Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center 55th Anniversary
Founded in 1969, the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center (NMBCC) has an extensive history of supporting the university’s efforts to challenge, support, and contribute to the continued development and success of Black students, faculty, and staff. Today, it is a one-of-a-kind, dedicated “living history” space for students to explore racial identity and express the values of a diverse and engaged learning community.
IU Student Leadership Conference
This spring, the Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and university partners are proud to host the Indiana University Student Leadership Conference on Friday, February 7, through Saturday, February 8, 2025, on the IU Bloomington campus. The conference theme is Elements of Empowerment: Reimaging the Excellence Within Us. This two-day conference, which is free to all students on all campuses, will cover leadership, empowerment, and excellence.

IDEAL Conference 2025
We are excited to announce that the IDEAL Conference, a comprehensive professional development resource, will take place March 27-29, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. This three-day conference provides a critical discourse in a wide range of areas, including Teaching and Learning; Student Recruitment, Retention, Development, and Belonging; Staff Recruitment, Retention, Development, and Belonging; and Organizational Leadership and Human Resource Management. It is open to Midwestern secondary and postsecondary education institutions, affiliated organizations, nonprofit and corporate leaders, and community members.
