OVPDEMA Scholarships Now Accepting Applications
OVPDEMA invites IU students to apply for select scholarships made possible by alumni and friends of Indiana University. Scholarships are available now until March 11, 2022.
Get Ready for Finals
Finals week is right around the corner. Here are a few ways to help you prepare:
- Looking for individualized academic support? Visit the Academic Support Center for tutoring services in a variety of subjects.
- Needing math help? The Math Learning Center (MLC) offers math tutoring for college pre-algebra to finite and calculus.
Writing a paper, preparing for written exams? The Writing Tutorial Services offers online writing consultations. These consultations help students develop strong thesis statements and effective outlines and find and integrate credible sources.

Honoring the Life and Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
Each year on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Indiana University faculty, staff, students, and the community at large reflect on the life and legacy of Dr. King. This year IU will host the 2nd annual social justice conference, A Journey Toward True Education, present the Building Bridges awards, and launch two new student-designed initiatives — Together We Commit: Student Leadership Curriculum and the IU MLK Student Organization Grant. The deadline for applications and nominations is December 20, 2021.
Latinx Leadership: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow
The 2022 ILLC theme focuses on Latinx leadership and activism of our past, present, and future. This year’s conference sessions and speakers will explore the leadership of previous activists, current social justice challenges impacting the community and will provide the opportunity to develop skills to prepare for future advocacy efforts. They hope to highlight the importance of activism within the larger community and the Latinx community.

In this episode, Nicky Belle and Kelli Mosteller share their work with tribal members, outreach and resources, and initiatives to create a home away from home for students with tribal backgrounds in different communities, even during the pandemic. Belle is director of Indiana University’s First Nations Educational and Cultural Center. Mosteller is executive director of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Cultural Heritage Center in Oklahoma City and was named one of the top 50 women making a difference in 2017.
